- Where does the name Cloutchasers come from? And who is in it?

I hang around in Discords for games I play a decent bit, both to shitpost and to give out unsolicited advice. In Flesh and Blood’s “purple Discord” I became friends with Frank, a Canadian guy who goes by thelazydog and he invited me to join an online league team with him. These were COVID times and the team, full of likeminded shitposters gathering on Discord, was called Clout Chasers. I had Kristian join in as well, given we tested FaB a lot together. Once we switched to primarily One Piece TCG, we still wanted to run with the name, which the OGs were all cool with. While the original server still exists, it stopped being a small team’s testing group and is nowadays more of a hub for most top FaB players and it changed the name to Clout Central Station. As for who’s a part of Clout Chasers, on the content side it’s only Kristian Čurla and me. In practice, we travel and team with Luka Forjan too. In spirit, everyone who supports us in our journey or wants to become the Pirate King themselves is a Clout Chaser.

-What inspired you to create a guide specifically for this leader?

I always make a detailed guide for my most played leader of the format, why not share the knowledge and experience that hours of testing went into? It’s GP Luffy this time around because I enjoy stable, aggressive decks and he brought some much needed relief to how I play the game after the jungle of OP10. We’re still in a jungle so to speak, but navigating it with GP is much more comfortable for me.

-Who would benefit the most from this guide- Beginners, seasoned players, or both?

I think both, but admittedly this guide is more theory heavy in a way that is probably less digestible for beginners. It assumes knowledge of basics, game fundamentals and general opposing strategies in most cases.

-Without spoiling too much, what makes this leader fun or unique to play?

For me it is always the proactivity that comes with good aggro picks, forcing the opponent to be the one to respond and putting them in the worst position possible when they don’t have an answer ready. On paper it’s simple to play, but in practice it rewards good planning, situational awareness and knowledge of fundamentals.

-Do you offer coaching or deck reviews for this leader as well?

Yes, coaching sessions can be booked via metafy.

-What is the hardest part about learning this deck and do you cover it in your guide?

Balancing don management with development and aggression, which I cover in detail.

-Where can readers purchase the guide and how much does it cost?

Through the Clout Chasers metafy for $15 or for free if they are a supporter in specific monthly tiers.

-Will you update (or is it still accurate) the guide when the upcoming set drops (OP12)?

I have already done one major update in OP11 and will only do minor, largely cosmetic updates leading up to OP12. Then I will do another major update covering the new match-ups and impact of new support (Dead Man’s Game) on the deck.

ree

-Will the deck still be viable in OP12?

Definitely, as the hardest match-up in Betty drops off due to green Zoro, and Dead Man’s Game increases available tools to finish off Snakeman. Top3 decks at worst.

-Any particular deck you are looking forward to play in OP12?

Koala, though her lack of results in Japan did diminish my hype. I thought she would break the game, whoops

-Any Exciting results or tournament finishes using this deck you'd like to share?

Top8 in Birmingham Treasure Cup and Top16 in Dublin Regional.

-Would you recommend the deck in a ChinoizeCup? Or even more important in Finals/LCQ?

Yes squared, it is my preferred pick for the Paris Finals at the moment.

-Talking about finals and with past regionals in mind. What do you think about Belo Betty and the matchup GP into Belo Betty?

I won’t lie, it’s rough now that they also have Zeus, though manageable going 2nd. Betty remains as the main obstacle and it’s what I’ll be putting the most effort into figuring out in the lead-up to Finals.

-What 2 deck will qualify for worlds? Any guesses?

If I didn’t believe my deck of choice was making it, I wouldn’t be playing it, so one of them has to be GP Luffy. For the other spot, I think the eternal mainstay in 07 Lucci will hit a good bracket and get there, surprising everyone.

-Would you 10-0 Bello Betty with good old Sakazuki? Unban the Solution (joke)?

10-0 probably not, but convincingly win yes. Betty didn’t exist in metas where black removal decks were prevalent, she’d get her just deserts.

-One more fun question: If you could ban and unban one card, what cards would you pick?

I’d ban Pudding, it’s the strongest and also the most toxic card in the game. For unban I would choose Kingdom Come, it never really struck me as a bannable card to begin with and yellow is down in the dumps, it could use a boost.

Thanks for reading and Good luck with the GP Luffy grind!
